At Paddy's, we believe a happy dog is a socially exercised dog.
Usually scheduled around lunchtime our walks provide a good break during the day for your friend, and  they are far much more interesting than watching TV or being stuck on a treadmill. Your dog will be happy to meet the same group of pals as we don't take ad-hoc dogs. Occasionally, we swap dogs around so they all tend to know each other.

Following some simple principles, we always start and finish the walk on the lead and this usually represents half of the walk. By doing so, we put the pack in a submissive attitude and reaffirm our leadership.
This is a reason why we can walk several breeds of dog of various sizes with confidence. Over time, you should notice an improvement in their general behaviour. Then, as long as your dog has learnt the recall, we'll let them off so they can explore, play and sniff. Often out of breath due to the interaction they get with their friends they happily come back when called. Have a look at the videos uploaded onto our Facebook Page.

We tend to vary the walks as we like to keep them interesting. We also know how important it is to be able to confidently walk your dog anywhere.  This is the reason why you might see us in Reading town centre, usually on a  Friday.

However, we strongly recommend you seek advice from a professional dog trainer or behaviourist, see the miscellaneous page for idea, if your dog is showing signs of extreme nervousness, aggression or dominance.

We'll stop our services if your dog is not "fit" for dog walking or cannot be handled.

  • We come and collect your dog.
  • We use our leads and collars with our tag on it for safety reasons.
  • We put your dog in the van and they have their own space even for large dogs
  • We drive to the start of the planned walk, collecting other dogs on the way.
  • Start of the walk, normally 15-20mn on the lead.
  • Then, we release them so they can play, run, sniff, etc... for another 15-20mn.
  • Then time to get back, so walk back to the van 15-20mn on lead.
  • Drive back to your place, dry his paws as much as possible, check his water, and give him a cuddle/a treat to go in his basket.
  • Visit our Facebook page to see their off lead time...
  • We are fully insured for this activity including getting into your house & are police checked.

Now we are able to look after him/her for the day at our Puppy Crèche up to 9 months old, depending on the breed.
How does it work?  Simple, you drop him/her off in the morning from 7.30 till 9 and you can collect from 5 until 6.30.
Your puppy needs to have had all his injections as he will be in contact with other pups but no more than 6.
We'll have time to do some basic obedience (sit, wait, eat, down, etc...), toilet training. They will start to go out for walks on the lead for a gentle stroll and they will have plenty of fun playing together. This will give your best friend an excellent start with his/her socialisation.

When you have a puppy, it is daunting to leave too long on its own. When he is toilet train, we can propose some puppy visit lasting 30 minutes. We'll feed him, walk him, do some basic obedience and a make a fuss of him/her. This service is not available for visit around lunch time.

For the dogs we walk everyday at lunchtime, we can offer a dog boarding service when you have to be away from home.  This is only for dogs we feel comfortable with in our own home, with our own pets and family.

When you have to go away for some time (holiday, work), we'll be happy to come and visit your pet once or twice a day to feed him/her, change water, and more importantly give him/her some affection they all miss when you are not here.
This service is not for dogs and not available around lunch time.

Having a dog helps to break up the sedentary life many of us lead: sat in the office, in the car, at home watching TV. Why? Your dog will get you out for what he enjoys doing best - being outdoors, sniffing, exploring, socialising .... Additionally, in these troubled times we live in, man's best friend is a reassuring presence to have and who love us unconditionally. They look after our property and can be a real deterrent. Whatever our external appearance, they love us anyway and always want to please us. In return, all they need is food, a bed, love and plenty of exercise - just like their ancestors who can hunt and travel long distances.  Unfortunately, even with our best intentions, there are not always enough hours in the day: commuting, work, children, hobbies, going out...to be able to give him/her the exercise and stimulation they need.
The lack of exercise will lead to obesity and already a ⅓ of UK pets are in this case. Not enough stimulation will lead to boredom, chewing anything even their own paw which could lead to infection and amputation in the worst case.
By using our experienced dog walker these worries could be a thing of the past.

Most of us have to work to earn a living.
If you are office-based and really care about your dog, everyday you'll have to sacrifice your lunchtime break to drive home, change your clothes, take your dog out for a maximum of 30mn, change clothes again, drive back to work.  Not to mention the rain!  With the cost of petrol and the use of your car this nearly equals our fee.  Secondly, you don't have a break for your lunch!  Thirdly, you miss out on all the important gossip and politics in the company.

If you are working from home, employed or self employed, you may think you don't need a dog walker. But what about a real lunch break, time for yourself, or to be able to work more especially if you have targets to achieve.
A dog walker will give you the time you are always missing. You still have your dog around and can enjoy playing or teaching him tricks - far more interesting than walking in the mud on a rainy day on your own with your dog.

Cutting the cost of your dog maintenance:

  • First, with our special offer, during the first 4 months, it is £6/walk*.
  • Second, refer a friend booking 10 walks (minimum) and get a £25 voucher for Paddy's Pet Shop.
So just start recommending us to reap the reward.
  • Third, as an active dog walking client, you'll be entitled to -15% at Paddy's Pet Shop  &  free home delivery

So now, choose a professional dog walker which will help you manage your time and keep your costs down.
